Folks,
Anyone else play on (or host) infantry only servers? Was on one yesterday
and really enjoyed it. It forced players to work as a squad as that was the
best way to accomplish objectives. (Saw that from both sides. Once, while
working as a squad and once while trying, in vain, to defend a point from 4
guys who were working together quite effectively)

IMHO - This is what the game should have been. By removing the vehicles, the
basic infantry types are much more distinct. Medics are a god send, Support
troops keep the group supplied and assault troops bear the brunt of the
assault work.

No more of those damn flying tanks to worry about...

Anyway, just my 2 second rant and thanks to those who do host such servers.
I'll be looking

As an 'expert' sniper, these are great for me to play on. There is a lot
more team work, though it's still not perfect. To some extent, it has
marginalised AT & Engineers, and consequently there are plenty more of the
other types around. And having more support/medics around, means it's
ever-more beneficial to play in squads.

Because of the slower mode of transport (ie on foot) it means that you need
people changing hands or you are vulnerable to losing them. Previously, If
you saw a flag being capped on the map, you'd hop in a jeep/apc and zoom
back to defend the flag. If you get flanked on infantry-only, you cant do
this.

I played on several last weekend and the last few days. I've got to say,
I've not been enjoying it all that much. Most (all?) of the ones I've been
on have been nade fests... grenades are just going off all over the place.

I've been hating the plane whores for some time now, but with all the nade
spamming on these no-vehicle servers, sometimes I wish a jet would swoop
down and show then who's really boss.
