Picked it up on my way home from work. Just went through the training
mode and finished a couple of missions. I like it. It's no COD4,
GoW, RSV, nor GRAW2 for that matter, but has been an auspicious
beginning thus far.

I'm still getting used to the controls, and other the nuances of the
game, such as the camera viewing angle and etc. The graphics are
pretty good and the frenetic gun sounds during battles is great.

You actually can't die in this game at all, which makes it a bit of a
semi serious shooter. If you take too much damage, you just fall down
and your partner comes to drag you to a cover and your health
regenerates.

I like the back to back battle mode in the game during which everythng
slows down to slo-mo and the enemies get dumber. Then there's the
riot shield usage in which you get yourself a shield, like a car door
and your partner gets up behind you to kill the enemies.

Sadly, it doesn't let you start off on the hardest level. So, I'm
starting off on the middle level. Why can't game developers just let
you start off on the hardest level, like COD4???

I was hoping to be able to find a game to play until RSV2 came out and
I'm glad I went and picked this up after work. I know the review
scores haven't been that great, but I'm still liking it so far.

Haven't tried the game online yet. I'm one of those people who likes
to finish a game on the hardest level before heading over to Live.
Anyway, if any of you were pondering what to do until RSV2 came out,
just might wanna give this game a try.

I went into EBGames wed to reserve
GTA IV and RSV2 ,and almost picked up a copy of Army Of Two,I hadn't
realized it was out. But after getting burned on Kane-N-Lynch I was
hesitant to pick it up. I'm gonna definitely rent it tomorrow.

I'm still bewildered as to why more people aren't playing Frontlines
though, the single player is more fun than COD4 . I wish more people
would give the game a try and at least complete the entire campaign. I
don't think the demo was a representation of the full game's experience.
In one later level I completed 90% with a (full size) helicopter and
10% on foot, then another run through with tanks 90% and 10% on foot, and
yet again 100% entirely on foot calling in air strikes and using turret
drones and helicopter drones, or a combination of all of the above ,all
on the same level. The options are near endless. The only downside is the
difficulty. I wish it was harder ,even the hardest difficulty isn't that
hard, but it's still fun as hell. I think its easier because you have so
many options at your disposal. I don't think they sold the game well
when debuting it, they didn't show people all of the games perks, like I
just found out about some of environments are completley destructable,
It wasn't until I set up a rail turret/emp that I was blasting large
portions of small houses and buildings. Also some of the cement defenses
are destructable ,but you have to land a grenade just right to break it.
You really have to experiment to see what's destructable. But with the
game being a little on the easy side, I could see where people would
just blow through and miss all the good stuff. Raise the difficulty and
give it a run through, its fun.

Yeah, that's a good alternative. It's definitely a good rental for
sure.

I think that's it. I tried the demo and just didn't like it at all.
Probably because I'm too dumb to figure out the gadgets you get to use
in the game Smile I had a heck of a time trying to figure out how to
use the little mobile unit in the demo.

I think you just might find that Army of Two to be too easy for you as
wlel then.

Yeah, all good points.

I lied about not being able to die. If you take a rocket while you're
coming down on a parachute, you die. LOL!!

Also, if you or your partner take oh, about 100x the bullets as you do
in the Hardened difficulty level in COD4 though. I mean, it's almost
as though you can't die in this game. Still pretty good fun and
something to keep me occupied until RSV2 comes out.

When RSV2 comes out, it just might be the first time I go on Live to
play before finishing a game off first.

Can you and your partner play same-screen or split-screen co-op, or is it
only on-line co-op?

I haven't tried co-op yet. I tried to get my gf to play with me, but
about the only video game she likes is GHIII Sad

But there are two modes of coop, local and online and there's only the
split screen, although, I'm not sure what would happen if you and your
partner were to go into a riot shield mode, in which you hold a
makeshift shield and your partner hides behind you to pick off the
enemies.

I think there's also 2 on 2 multiplayer, but I had problems trying to
connect this game online lastnight. I just wanted to check out the
lobby to see what the activity was like, but the game just hung when I
tried to connect. Not sure if it was a server issue or something
else.

Played a couple missions, so far I'm liking it. The game is definitely
built around co-op. It's a mix between arcady type shooter and
realistic. As you need to rely on the basics of warfare ,which are
suppress ,flank, and fire. If you just run forward like a standard FPS
your toast. The game has elements of Gears Of War taking cover and
firing from a covered position and also has some RSV elements of using
your AI or CO-OP buddy to suppress and flank, also has some elements of
Splinter Cell co-op where you need a buddy to get to a higher vantage
point ,otherwise you couldn't reach it. I could do without some of the
more arcady parachute missions ,but it does mix up the action a bit. I
noticed an option to turn off the 'bleed out' function, I wonder if that
means you die more often easier,or maybe you just die without the chance
of healing? I'll have to check that out. But I do like the fact that the
game forces you to use your head more than the standard run forward
shoot everything bland type shooter. I also like that when your shot
down or bleeding out ,your buddy drags you to safety so he can patch you
up,and while he's dragging you, you can fire your weapon to cover him
while he's also patching you up. It's a nice twist the old heal with a
medpac standard. So far fun game definitely better than the last batch
of shooters lately.

Can you confirm that you can do split-screen co-op please? Thank you.

Yeah, that's the only way you can do it, split-screen, both on local
and on Live.

I'm really loving the levels after the Aircraft carrier on professional
difficulty,it's so intense, lots of flanking and agressive AI. Anybody
who loves shooters please play this game on the hardest difficulty ,its
awesome.
