good God I would like them to tweak it more going by some of the
feedback.I would feel better if they worked some more on it. dont know
if thats how companys do things, maybe put a product piecemeal in
certain places and wait for the feedback and fix bugs and other
problems. hopefully by the time it gets here some things are more
ironed out. >> Stay informed about: Armed Assault in US? |

oh man if all those are true what a mess.
but I'm not really that discouraged. I will hold off from getting the
game for a while till the community starts talking about AA like they
do OPFP. I'm sure it will happen.
I mean these guys did make the original so I'm sure they are aware and
working thru issues as we speak. >> Stay informed about: Armed Assault in US? |

I can't understand why people compare it to OFP 1.0 when it should be
compared to OFP 1.96 which is where they started from in effect.

I'd disagree with that. For me, the best parts of OFP are the infantry and
helicopters and these are awful compared to OFP; the movement and aiming is
unresponsive and just plain awkward at times and the helicopter flight model
is terrible, it's like flying the choppers in OFP with time acceleration on!

Yep, lots of issues still unadressed from OFP. I hope Game 2 is going to be
a completely new engine as BIS have tried to do too much with this one and
it's currently a mess though I hold out hope that patches can cure most, if
not all, of these problems! >> Stay informed about: Armed Assault in US? |

Yep, I thought a scope was supposed to help you but the one in ArmA obscures
the view more than enhances it!

I agree that it needs serious patching but "not even close to OFP
standards?"
It's way more mature than OFP was when it came out and it's basically
the same game with a few extra features and much nicer graphics.
I wonder how people can say it's a game of it's own. Gameplay IS THE
SAME as with OFP. And I like that!
It still has the same bugs as OFP had for 5 years, like AI not getting
into vehicles or the same sound problems. >> Stay informed about: Armed Assault in US? |

if it came out today in the US I wouldnt buy it. I love OPFP so much
that I dont want to feel that feeling of let down playing AA. there
are alot of other games I am waiting for and wouldnt mind if they
dissapointed me.....but not this game. I really hope they adress
everything.
this is so sad to hear about AA.
do they think so little of the areas they released the game that they
didnt mind unloading a buggy game on them? are they just the test
fodder?the speed bumb before the regular full release ......
I wonder. >> Stay informed about: Armed Assault in US? |

It sure does get in your way. Nothing like OFP scope mode...
Like what a good online gamer has said. In another post and place. Which Zorlac hit the nail on the
head, I think! You agree Jaffo?..
"A someone else posted, ArmA should have *STARTED* where OFP v1.96 left
off...sure, first release bugs are bound to happen, but ArmA is the
bastard half-baked, rushed-out child of a large group of developers at
BIS who threatened to leave unless they got a game (any game) out soon,
instead of having to work for years and years on game #2. So, the gave
in and spent time and resources bodging the OFP code, slicing in some
new stuff, and coming out with a game that just isnt up to the standard
it should have been..." >> Stay informed about: Armed Assault in US? |

Don't get fooled by all those negative reports on the Internet. Yes,
after 5 years ArmA is a bit disappointing and while it has some flaws
it's overall a very much improved OFP.
The originality of OFP can't be reached.
Now wait for the game, play it and enjoy. Patches and mods will come out
over time, just like with OFP.
Here is another teaser shot
