Now I'm rather annoyed. Caved & bought Seasons & Bon Voyage a few weeks
back. Been playing with it when time allowed (not much, in other words) but
about an hour ago I went to start it up and was told (rather rudely, I
thought) that the game thinks my CD is a "backup". WTF? No it's the 3 week
old ORIGINAL CD, thank you. Bloody thing. Tried the MTS2 suggested fix of
changing the shortcut. No dice. It's still under the impression my original
BV CD is a copy. Any suggestions gladly accepted! I'm now debating using a
NoCD crack for the first time on the Sims series (used them on other games
when there was the risk of kids scratching the disks with a good success
rate).
BTW, 11 day work weeks - leave you pretty tired. Tomorrow = catch up on
housework. >> Stay informed about: Arg! Moronic copy protection! |

I have this happen to me too. Oddly enough it doesn't happen everytime and
just trying again has always worked for me.

After 10 tries I gave up, went to game burn world & grabbed the crack Mim
mentioned. PITA EA - copy protection that forces legal owners of a game to
install a crack just to play it. >> Stay informed about: Arg! Moronic copy protection! |

Yeah, in the end I did. Installed it then made a mad dash for the bus to get
to work. Then promptly spent 6 hours playing when I got home. >> Stay informed about: Arg! Moronic copy protection! |

I wouldn't really call it copy protection, just the opposite, it will only
encourage piracy. If people get irritated too much, next time they may well
download a pirated copy instead of getting a legal one. >> Stay informed about: Arg! Moronic copy protection! |
