Airfix promised to release a Sherman Crab and Churchill Crocodile
kit in 1/76th (which they daftly call 1/72nd these days) this
year, I think in July.

Has anyone seen hide or hair of either of these promised releases
yet?

I expect they will be based on the the dreadful Sherman and not-
so-dreadful Churchill kits, but I still maintain the tiny glimmer
of hope that they might have re-tooled both.

Imagine the novelty of being able to get an accurate Sherman I in
1/76th for cheap.

All the best,

John.

While I haven't seen them in person I've seen photos and read the
reviews...they're simply the old kits, each with an added sprue.
Reports are that Airfix will not be doing any new small scale vehicle
kits and are instead considering additional "conversions." They're
newly announced efforts are a 1/48 Canberra, a 1/72 Nimrod and another
Wallace and Grommit kit. Previously announced and in the pipeline are a
RNLI boat and the eagerly awaited 1/72 TSR

A couple of gaming pals went to the IPMS show at Telford and saw these. The
Croc is pretty bad, just the old Airfix Mark IV/VIII hybrid with the
original transfers and a rather dodgy trailer. The Sherman is OK though, the
standard Airfix Sherman but with a very nice flail attachment & new
markings.

Hannants have both of these are they are the top selling items in the last
seven days!

Cheers
Martin

The Bofors, RAF refuelling and rescue sets were also very good. The Bofors &
Morris tractor is one of my favourite kits. I'd also rather fond of the
Airifx Crusader, even if it is a bit long.

As was the Tiger.

The Sherman isn't a bad model, just a bit plain. The Pz IV was great and an
excellent base for lots of conversions.

Cheers
