Age of Mythology: Absolute joke of a CD Key Issue

Basically I purchased Age of Mythology to play a friend who just got a pc and
bought AoM. HOWEVER, when I try to log onto ESO or whatever its called, it
says cannot validate CD Key, I have tried all the troubleshooting answers,
which laughably consists of, wait 5 minutes and try again, and make a new
account! LMAO! Neither of these sorry excuses for a solution worked
surprisingly enough. And Im now sitting with 3 accounts which wont work and I
cannot get online to play it. I did once get online into the foyer but only
for a second before I logged off. And have subseqently NEVER been able to get
on again. I have read lots and lots and lots of posts about how every copy of
AoM sold has the same CD Key. I really hope this isnt the case. I was then on
a microsoft site which told me I had 2 free problem solve emails or
something, only to then be told I had to pay, wait for it....... 46 POUNDS to
ask them a question. So after more browsing, I found this forum. I really
really really REALLY hope I get a good answer as I own an xbox and have used
microsoft products for years, and many of them are unsatisfactory to say the
least.

So how much u will pay instead of 46 pounds to this fourm....?
