Hello, I've just bought a copy of Age Of Empires 2 Gold. I have found two
issues with this game:
-Whenever I try to install The Conquerors on my system (which is XP SP2 US
version), the install can't find the file NOVITÁ.RTF on the CD. I guess
this is caused by the Á character in the filename. I tried backupping the
CD and changing the name, but it seems not to resolve the problem, the
accented letter is not recognized by the system.
I ignored the file and the game runs correctly, as it is a text-only file.
The CD works correctly in WXP, italian version.
-While playing, I suffer from some strange 'green pixels' raising around
objects and buildings. They seem to be wherever there's contact between
different objects or textures, or in transition areas between the
foreground objects and the terrain - they kind of follow the 'contour' of
buildins and people.
The game is playable indeed, but it's a bit annoying.
My system: ECS Desknote A928 ( P4 1,8GHz, chipset SiS 650, 1GB RAM, 64MB
Shared Memory ), WXP SP2 with security updates & updated bios, video
drivers and agp miniport.

Although you *can* play AOK without a dedicated video card, I would strongly
advise against it. That's one of the reasons I insisted on GeForce4 being
bundled with my current PC. There are simply too many issues when playing
with anything less.

Ehm... I don't seem to have any performance issue. And I've tried the game
on my desktop PC, which uses a Matrox P650, an high-quality 2D but very
low-performance 3D card, and the game plays perfectly.
