Whether a data set is of high quality is orthogonal to whether it
measures what you need to know.

If you can make a case that the Valve data set targets the customers you
are interested in, or can be mined to do so, fine. Otherwise you have
no argument.

"Butterflies of the British Isles" is an even more accurate database
than Valve's. So how come it is even less useful for determining the
typical hardware used by MMORPG players?

The USPS is a separate entity from Western Union. Anyhow, I think they
officially quit doing telegrams some years ago.

I think it was something like 2-3 years ago - I remember seeing it
mentioned on another newsgroup, and being surprised that they hadn't
stopped earlier.
