There is the fact that his *original* shield was just a chunk of steel with
no special properties. So you could do an "early years" Cap with no trouble
at all.

To be fair, since Storyteller II dice are binary (and I believe that's
what Exalted uses) it's not as bad as reading Champions dice; all
you're doing is looking for 7-10's and seperating them from the rest. >> Stay informed about: Aberrant: First Look questions |

In Aberrant they are trinary, aren't they?
1-6: No successes.
7-9: One success
10: Two successes
I've done the 15+ dice thing in Aberrant.
Really no worse than Champions rolls where you need to count BODY
and STUN.
Then again, I _miss_ rolling 30d6 attacks. >> Stay informed about: Aberrant: First Look questions |

You pull them out and count them.

With the optional Standard Effect rule in 5th Edition Hero System, you
don't even have to roll dice. Results are treated as if every die rolled
a three.

But you're still only seperating them into binary piles, which is a
lot easier than actually counting pips. >> Stay informed about: Aberrant: First Look questions |

That's only megadice. Regulars don't do that.

Less, IMO. The latter requires learning to read dice in a particular
way; the former just to bin them in two piles. >> Stay informed about: Aberrant: First Look questions |

Well, in Champs it's 3 bins.

What's hard or cumbersome about that?
You just go through them, picking up either the passes or the
fails, heck, (grabs box of d6's, rolls, counts), it only took about 30s
to total 36d6[1], (it would have taken a bit longer if I had also counted
body).
[1] 110, if you care.

Not for me. I don't "count pips", I recognize distinct shapes and then do
a very simple sum. It's easier to recognize shapes than it is to trace
around those furshlugginer dingledangle Arabic numerals that most d10s
have. >> Stay informed about: Aberrant: First Look questions |

When we were running "DragonTrek Z: The Next Degeneration" using
Shadowrun rules, we were rolling in excess of 200 dice at a time.
Now THERE is some rolling work.
