Abandoning/reacquiring quests...

So I thought you could pretty much abandon a quest and then restart
pretty much by just talking to the Quest Giver again.

Well... that's how it worked for the Blood Sausage recipes in Loch
Modan. I was having some logistical issues with this quest (pre-patch
2.05) and I abandoned/reacuired it several times over a couple of
days.

Well (again...)... I tried doing the Prospector Remtravel quest solo
(not that bad for me, Level 22 Hunter) but lost him in the 'end
game'. No problem, I thought... just 'abandon' and then 're-acquire'.

But the niece in Auberdine wouldn't talk to me, and I couldn't get the
quest back! (Mad because I got her dotty Uncle killed, I suppose...)

But are some quests different (in that you only get one shot at them?

Or did I screw something else up?

Or did something change in between patches?
