if by that you mean i grew a backbone and walked away from a company that
abused its customers, then yes. i am not the cat you thought i was.

I'm not lazy either, I just don't see a point in buying an army when
he has one I could use once it's in playing shape, and he prefers to
do his own figures. Wouldn't you?

Wait, wait, wait... you're saying you walked away from GW because it's
abusive and your answer is WOTC? Let's not forget they've made a
business model out of coming out with a new edition of a game (Magic)
even 12-18 months that completely makes the previous edition
worthless; similarly, they've now gone through three versions each of
their top RPGs (D&D 3, 3.5, and 4; and Star Wars 1, 1R, and Saga).
WOTC is all about the money. OGL is a way of making more money. You
want to release 4E product before 2009, you have to pay $5000 to get
the right to do so, and then you still have to wait two months after
the game's release to put out any product.

Backbone, nothing. You just moved from one pimp to another, you're
still whoring yourself out for some corporate mogul.

And let's not even get starting on World of Warcrack...

mmmmno. i play nwn1 and nwn2, i dont pay for my dnd books, and there are no
dnd tournaments that i go to that tell me i cant use 3.0 books, or to
continue using 3.5 even though 4.0 came out. no ones going to throw me out
of a shop for using old rules, like they do in the games workshop.

so no, i dont play wow anymore. i played for a little while and quit.

it was close though spanky. ya almost had a point. *almost*. but
unfortunately much like all of your arguements it melts in the face of the
truth.

Until you've felt the slaanesh-like pleasure/self loathing of submitting
your soul completely to WoW, you are not allowed to mention that game. The
gods will become angry and smite you.

Pah, I'll mention it alright. $15 a month, after 12 months that's
$180, I could buy an army for that and have fun with real humans
face-to-face, and know when I'm looking at a woman that she IS a
woman, not some 45-year-old plumber named Bob who happens to be
playing "Dominaria the Dark Elf Mistress".

Searching for chicks to date on the internet is like searching for
homeless people while you're out yachting...

Well, regardless of anything else, my dad has helped me come to
appreciate the games and how to play them, so I'm cool with it.

Every day I realize more and more how lucky I am to play these games
in Jacksonville. There's a nice community of GW gamers around here,
and a heck of a community of Warmachine/Hordes players. Lots of good
people to play with, and even when we have our arguments, we usually
come right back to the table to battle it out again with no hard
feelings.

No it doesn't. You're playing a pen-and-paper RPG on a computer. Do
you know how silly that sounds?

Plus, what if you wanted to play on an official server or whatever,
assuming such a thing existed? You'd have to use THEIR rules, just
like you do if you're in a GW tourney. However, if you're not in a
GW-sponsored event, you're good to go. The Necro is on the GW tourney
circuit but you can use any figures you want, same with at least half
the events on their circuit this years. If you want to play a game
with someone who has an old edition of the rules, no one's going to
get upset with you in a store. You're thinking in terms of doing
everything at GW stores and GW events. Go independent, man. There's
lots of fun to be had out there. Heck, we experiment with tourney
rules, various rules sets, some house rules, homebrew missions, all
kinds of fun stuff. You only have yourself to blame if you're letting
GW dictate how you play the game. And in that, you lose your own
point.

Lets put it this way, I came back to GW as they made me feel less Slaaneshy
and slutty than World of Warcrack.

oh hell, i have wargaming pals who dress up as girls in real life.
actually, most of the time i can't even tell if they're trying to look like
guys trying to look like girls, or just trying to look like girls ...

people who complain about men posing as chicks online make me laugh.
because, as far as i can see, the only reason to complain is if you were
looking to hit on actual chicks on the internet in the first place. which
is a rather precarious glass house upon which to mount your trebuchet.
