What's wrong with yesterday? They're a total tin plated cheese fest at the
moment.

The entire Necron range needs to be a lot more interesting. Its as boring
as the Chaos v4 codex, and that's saying something.

....of course, I may be biased since the 2 armies I play just happen to be
Chaos and Necrons, and I'm not exactly thrilled with what GW's done to
either one. On the plus side, my wallet is thankful I've not bought a
single mini for myself since the Chaos v4 Codex was released. If I'm not
careful, I may end up with everything assembled and painted someday soon.

seriously. why don't they just go ahead and make a limited edition Superted
figure while they're at it?

I bought the new Necron lord released for Apocalypse, mainly 'cause I'd
heard they might be limited editions. It sits here on my shelf, un-opened in
it's packaging.

The only other thing I've bought recently is a box of Ogre bulls with xmas
money, mainly to see what they'd look like built & painted. I've almost done
two, and they don't look too bad. Now, should I keep them as a DoW ogre unit
for other armies or start a small Ogre force ... ?

Cheers, Martyn

Well, you got one part of that right... and it wasn't the "rumor"

I had a giant that had a lascannon arm. He was fun, but the leader of
the warband was a goddamn halfling, so it all balanced out.

Except Makari! Little bugger took a battlecannon, multi-melta,
lascannon, a few heavy bolters, a heavy flamer, and kept standing
through it all.

Then a Land Speeder pilot pulled out his pistol and shot him dead.

I miss the sustained fire super long range large blast vortex missile
launchers. Man, those old kustom weapon charts were FUN!

wait. basically, what youre saying is this is returning us to the days when
one single dark eldar leader can zoom over to the end of a 10 man firing

wonderful.

we called them "Tragedy" cards.. and Virus Outbreak was promptly
removed from the deck and thrown into a box.

>The stupid armour penetration rules, Wolf
> Guard Terminators with Assault Cannons and Cyclone Launchers, Berzerker
> Terminators with 2+ on 2d6 (where's Clay when you need him?), etc.

both were easily houseruled... though I must admit to partaking in 2+
on 2d6 Khorne Terminators from time to time.

really though.. with certain weapons having really big negative armor
modifiers (-6 or... less?) that rerally wasn't that big of a deal to
me.

armor penetration was definitly no worse then it is now...

hehe...reminds me of the time colonal shaefer and his last chancers were in
combat with this chaos lord (believe it or not, the squad could take down
anyone if you gave chaefer a powerfist. and i mean anyone.) well due to bad
rolls on my part and good rolls on his, my squad got slaughtered (though i
took out his bodyguards) and all i had left was shaefer with one wound. his
chaos lord with all 4 marks, a demon weapon and a power fist, 2+ save and a
d-field, as well as pyschic powers activated, was standing there facing off
against shaefer in all his carapace armor glory.

both characters had one wound left, because the chaos lords combat drugs
wounded him.

his sergeant from his tac squad decides during the next shooting phase he
was going to try to kill shaefer with his bolt pistol. i laid five dollars
on the table and bet that he would kill his own man. sure enough, he pulled
the trigger and got his guy right in the face, bypassing a 3+ d-field, a 4+
save from prescience, and rolling 2 on a 3+ save because of the bolt
pistols -1 to armor.

i laughed so hard i thougth i would split. i lost the game, but i won a very
important moral victory.

depends...my guardmen hold them down and take turns punching them in the
kidneys before making them dress like women and use coolaid for lipstick.
