Just to clarify...
Setting 1 requires the 3D MineStorm wheel, as
mentioned in the instruction manual. This is the
default setting and is the setting that the game
was programmed for. It is 100% flawless in every
way.
Setting 2 requires the 3D Crazy Coaster/3D Narrow
Escape wheel, and is included as a backup setting
for those who only have that wheel. It is based on
the pre-release version of the game that was
included with the special editions of Vector 21.
It works well, and has a more vivid color scheme,
but also has some rare quirks.
Setting 3 is the 2D version.
The 3D versions were created for use with the original
Vectrex 3D Imager. I can't guarantee functionality with
the Kevin Horton adapter or the Maccallan Imager, though
it's been reported to me that Horton's adapter works great
with the game. It's also been reported that Maccallan's
Imager actually improves upon the original Vectrex Imager
when used with 3D Lord of the Robots.
Instruction Manuals...
OK, it's bothering the hell out of me that I made a
spelling error in the manual. I'm correcting the error
for all manuals shipped from this point on. If you receive
(or have received) a manual with the error, return it
to me and I will replace it. Include your return address.
I'm not responsible for lost/misdelivered mail. Remember,
the manuals with the spelling "Gauge" are correct,
the ones with "Guage" are incorrect and can be
replaced.

I'm curious about this... How can you improve on the final result of
the original imager, unless the Macallan imager is showing odd
artifacts that falsely give you more colours? (this does work BTW, you
can approximate sort of a lavender colour and an orange, but it's not
reliable and you'd probalby go mad trying to program the Vectrex to
actually take advantage of this. It's FAR EASIER to reinvent the wheel
-- pun intended -- and actually include more colours on a new colour
wheel)
I'm still having problems with my Maccallan Imager, mainly due to the
placement of the reflective stickers. The original imager has the
timing 'hole' closer to the wheel hub and the new imager has it's
equivalent of the timing hole farther out on the disk - which means the
placement of the timing window (in both position and duration) has to
be even more exact. Even a variation of 1mm in position or size of the
window and the imager starts acting screwy. >> Stay informed about: 3D LORD OF THE ROBOTS updates |

I don't actually own one, and I'm going by what
a couple of people have written in emails, so it
may not even be accurate. Thinking back, I believe
those emails were in reference to the pre-release
version (the one featured on the Vector 21
special editions).

First of all: The sticker challenge (only affected the very fist batch
of imagers) you mentioned has been solved month ago, i just missed to
inform you how to change the sticker, expect me to hear from me the
next days, you will just need a black pen to paint a small black line
on the sticker or i send you new stickers for free.
just email me if you need anything

robert:
the improvement people are talking about is aimed at the better
reliability (no crashes) on the crazy coaster game (and 3DLOTR) using
the newest index stickers (everybody : unless you got an email from me
you already have the newest version!!)
my 3d-wheels seem to be less susceptible to causing errors, which i'm
very proud of.

Thank you! I've saved a cartridge for you to work as
a trade. Looking forward to the Imager!

Yes, and the error only occurs with the pre-release version
of Lord of the Robots, and occasionally with the backup
version (setting 2) on the final release cartridge. The main
version (setting 1) uses the 3D MineStorm wheel, and is a
complete rewrite which works 100% flawlessly with
all of the imagers (Vectrex Imager, Maccallan Imager, and
the Horton Adapter).
