Some problems with the game config - I'd like to know whether it is possible to stop SC4:RH from putting its configs saved cities) from the "My folder. I wish to separate my disk and its action is simply utterly annoying.

(on the topic of railways....) - Hi Just a [simple] question. What do you do when your rail stations get over 100% cap? DO i have to go to elevated rail or monorail? I have tried building stations around that station - but then they are not used at all!

Could you describe the problem you're having with Sim3K on WinXP?

Without further info, I'll guess it's the sound driver. WinXP no longer has
DOS-compatible sound drivers, and Sim3K might need one (don't know for sure,
I don't have 3K). Try the open-source project, VDMSound
(http://www.ece.mcgill.ca/~vromas/vdmsound/). It *replaces a Windows core
DLL* to add audio support to DOS programs, so remember to backup/set system
restore point before installing it, and read the instructions that come with
VDMSound.

HTH,

KC

Yeah sure, I can install the game without any problems but when i click to
open it, it says "no disk inserted". I've got VDMsound but that didnt work
either because sim3K only operates in windows and not in DOS.
Any ideas?

It could be that your cd needs a clean or is damaged or you need a new cdrom
driver. They've got answers for SimCity 3000 unlimited with xp there.
You can get more tech support from this page. Click any answer in the right
hand column to get to the question and answer utility or ask a tech.
http://eatech.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/eatech.cfg/php/enduser/cci/home.php

One Question there:
When loading the game I get the following: "Please insert Correct CDROM".

Answer:
Try standard CD-ROM trouble shooting (cache, uncheck DMA, Sync data
transfer, etc.). If these steps are unsuccessful, obtain updated CD-ROM
drivers from your manufacturer.

One problem was with CDRW drives in general. If your drive is a CDRW you may
get it to work by putting in a standard CDROM drive, making sure it is the
same drive letter as you installed the game from.
