As others have said, yes. Some things to keep in mind:
(1) For 1e assassins, replace with 2e fighters or thieves (or perhaps a
slightly lower level fighter/thief)). Because of the fairly short time
between Unearthed Arcana and 2e, you are not likely run run into many
module references to cavaliers, barbarians and thief-acrobats. Bards
are extremely different between the two editions. 1e didn't have much
support of clerics following a particular god and being different
because of it.
(2) Half-orcs were a "core" race in 1e and so are going to be somewhat
common.
(3) Some spells have minor but important differences. If a certain
spell is very important in a module, check the description of it in
both editions to make sure the 2e version makes sense in the situation.
The same for mahic items.
(4) Non-weapon proficiencies were introduced somewhat late in 1e, so
you may need to add NWPs to some characters.
There are certainly other points, but I haven't played 1e or 2e in a
long time.
