RE3 is exactly the same as it was on the PS, so unless you're
completing a collection, it really isn't worth it.
RE Zero is OK, the main difference between this and the other games is
that there are no chests. If you put something down, you can pick it up
again later. It's got the same level of graphics as RE make as well. RE
zero was never released on the PS, it was originally designed for the
N64, but development was switched to the Gamecube. If you look online
you can find pics of the original version - the graphics were of the
same level as RE 1, 2 and 3 on the PS.
As for RE 4, well that's a bit more difficult. The Gamecube version has
better graphics and the controller feels better.
However the PS version has "Seperate Ways" an extra story featuring Ada
Wong and an extra weapon to unlock.
It's personal choice with that one ^_^

As far as I know it is the same on the PS1 and Gamecube, both RE2 and RE3
were just ported, while RE0, and RE were new as mentioned. RE4 of course
was the newer graphics, but is suppose to be slightly different on the PS2
than on the Gamecube. RE: Code Veronica X is suppose to be the same, tho I
don't know for certain, I've played the Dreamcast version (RE: Code
Veronica), and RE: CVX on the Game cube, and while I've not finished either
one, due to poor skills, they seem to be the same to me.

The main difference between the Cube and PS versions of RE 2 is that
you can skip the cutscenes on the Cube version.
Also the Cube version has the "Rookie" mode which gives you all the
heavy weapons at the beginning, and the battle game, these weren't on
the UK version of the PS release (I think they were on the US release).
I've not played RE:CVX on the Cube, so I can't say if it's any
different. I've not heard of any significant differences anyway.

Are there any extras for the RE3 GC port? Oh, and I remember seeing a
review of RE2 that *did* have the Extreme Battle mini-game, but as it
was in a magazine I've got a feeling it was a pre-release copy of the
US version (
I'm going to pick up a copy of RE2 just for the Extreme Battle mode
anyway, can anyone confirm whether it has the Randomizor mode like in
the N64 port?
Cheers,
Rob

Okay, there are two copies of RE2 for Gamecube at a local store, $30.
RE2 is still my favorite game on the PS, the game I'm most likely to
play again and again (followed closely by RE4, of course). Considering
my PS is now ancient, does anyone think it's worth my money to buy the
GC port? I know the graphics and story are the same. Even the cheat
codes are the same, right? Is there anything at all different? This is
the US version I'm contemplating, of course. Any opinions appreciated! >> Stay informed about: re4 ,zero and 3 |

Not that I'm aware of, it played exactly the same as far as I can
recall.

Very probably it was the US version. The UK versions of RE2 on PC and
Dreamcast did have the extreme battle mode, plus an art gallery and a
movie player. The first I knew of the Extreme Battle game was when I
saw it on my friend's DC, so despite having it on the PS I went out and
bought it (£5 from Woollies ^_^)

It doesn't I'm afraid. Some of the herbs and similar bits and bobs In
Arrange mode are in different locations, but it isn't random.
BTW, it's all on one disc.
If you look in somewhere like Gamestation, you can find it for about
8-9 pounds if you're lucky
Hope that helps

If you want to keep playing the game after your PS has bitten the dust,
go for it! (that was my reason btw ^_^)

Slightly different I believe, check out gamefaqs, I know for a fact the
cheat is on there.

I'd go for it, $30 is roughly 15 UK pounds, a bargain if you ask me.
The graphics do look slightly more polished, but I suspect it's due to
running a higher framerate or something.

Cheatcodes? I'd be impressed if you can still get the gatling gun after
completing Scenerio B without saving *but with* the use of infinite
weapons.
I'd also like to see if the Hunk and Tofu 4th Survivor mini-games have
a timer, like the N64 version.
Cheers,
Rob

That was my thinking -- the PS is already starting to rattle and groan a
little, so it's probably only a matter of time before it heads to the
Big Console Shelf in the Sky. Of course, the Gamecube's gonna do the
same in a few years, I'm sure, and I doubt they'll port any of the old
games to Revolution. *sigh* Remember the good old days, when
technology was built to last more than fifteen minutes? When you bought
a television or a washing machine, and expected it to last 20 years?
It's getting to the point where they may as well make game consoles out
of cardboard, so they're easier to recycle six months after we buy 'em.
Thanks for the advice though, I'm gonna pick up RE2 on Friday, after I
get paid. I forsee many sleepless days in my future.... >> Stay informed about: re4 ,zero and 3 |

I'm told the revolution is backwards compatible with the GC, so you may
be able to play them for longer than you thought.
The longest I've had a telly last me was 10 years, strangely enough I
replaced it last month. My VCR is going, but it's harder to get new
ones nowadays...

It did in Japan, but not here as far as I know.
I'm sure I saw a guide to all the incarnations of all the RE games,
I'll have to se if i can find it.

Check out a few of the old posts (Might have to Google them) from
uk.games.video.gamecube . It has a lot of information on the
Revolution, including a good discussion about how the thing will take
full size disks and the smaller Gamecube disks.
The drive in this new machine is quite an innovation so I'm told.
Cheers,
Rob
