Myst V

(Apologies if this appears twice, but the first post hasn`t turned up
on my computer after 3 hours...)

Having just finished playing the game, I thought I would run through
it again and this time just enjoy the graphics. However, I can`t
believe that I am stuck in K`veer! I remember turning on the power
for the fan the first time around, but cannot find it now. I am at
the bottom of the Great Shaft, but haven`t raised the floor yet.
There is a door that I cannot get through, and I seem to recall that
that is where the power switch is. I have hunted for a remote handle
for the door, but there doesn`t seem to be one. What have I missed,
please?

I'll repost my reply then

I don't know if the order of doing things is important but this is how I did
it.
Raise the floor (stay on it). This gives you access to a room with a switch
to start some sort of generator/turbine.
Lower the floor (stay on it).
Repeat the sequence to raise the floor again but this time run to the side
so you stay at the bottom of the shaft.
There is a tunnel to the room with the fan switch.
